Feminists again cisness
Plus: a space flight that doesn’t involve Katy Perry, testing water for birth control pills, wrestling with my cognitive dissonance, and more in the weekend roundup.
It’s Sunday. What a sickening week, again.
“We are currently witnessing the collapse of our democracy,” wrote the political scientist Steven Levitsky. Indeed, indeed, indeed. If you’re here, I don’t have to tell you any of this. But I do feel the need to note the cognitive dissonance of, on the one hand, witnessing these horrors and, on the other, writing about anything else.
I also know that these horrors are deeply tied to so much of what I cover here. Sex, love, desire, and pleasure. Marriage, motherhood, gender, and feminism. This is my corner of focus. I’ll keep doing my best with it.

Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan, is being called a “gory, horny” horror flick. I don’t like gore. I do like horny. Someone report back?
I started reading Feminists Against Cisness and it is stretching my brain in excellent ways.
